Wentworth Estate - Staircase Insets

We were tasked with creating some staircase insets with an intricate scrollwork design. The client sent inspiration images for a more classic look and we worked to create a set of panels that would work for their space.

The Process

eNQUIRY/THe BRIEF

The client got in contact with us and provided inspiration images for a metalwork bannister - based on a property in Paris. We took these and designed something that would fit with the staircase in their home.

Manufacture

After a measurement of the space, the team created several panels, assembling and fabricating scrolls together. The steep angle of the staircase presented a fun challenge - with the pattern needing to look symmetrical on a slant.

DETAILING

The central section of each panel features acanthus leaves, to give it a classic and traditional design feature.

INSTALLATION

The panels were created to go into an existing timber staircase and installation took several days to achieve the perfect finish the client was after. Individual spindles were designed to complement the main feature panels.

“What great Craftsmanship, thank you for the Iron work on my staircase, so thrilled that John Loveluck & his team from anvil metal brought my drawing to life. It was a pleasure to meet you all.”
