Hampton Court Palace - Garden Pavilion

We worked with Landform to create a pavilion for the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens Competition. Inspired by 10th century Turkish Islamic Gardens, the Garden of Paradise went on to win a Gold Medal and Best World Garden Award.

The Process

eNQUIRY/THe BRIEF

For the RHS show the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Tourism created the Garden of Paradise.

We were commissioned to make a structural centrepiece for the garden in the form of a pavilion as well as window tracery, gates and railings.

Manufacture

To create the design the client wished to portray, we used a combination of traditional and modern techniques including laser cutting, forge work and general fabrication. The structure was pre-assembled in the workshop prior to being powder-coated and driven to the site.

DETAILING

We included an oriental lily motif to blend in with the garden setting and Turkish backdrop. The window sections and pavilion feature a 10th Century Islamic inspired pattern.

INSTALLATION

Installation was carried out to a very tight timeframe and included the addition of gates, window tracery and benches. With everything fitting perfectly to the existing structures.

Customer feedback was positive across the board. The garden went on to win a Gold Medal and Best World Garden Award.
